Botanical Illustration

My interest in Botanical Illustration started in South Africa, where it is notably considered one of the most biologically diverse countries in the world. I took a garden tour at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town, and I was engrossed by the beauty and variety of form within the African flora.

My time in South Africa stimulated an interest in the study of plants, and I wanted to use art as a means to share that nature is simple yet complex, and there is so much detail that goes unnoticed that we can learn from—nothing is a coincidence.

I took classes with Ann Harris and a course with Gillian Condy, both who have left a lifetime impact on my botanical journey.
